I created the smile design gauge to serve as a tool for chairside diagnostic visualization, planning, communication, and execution for every personalized smile. As a visual tool, the grid aids us in adjusting the smile proportionality to achieve a conservative and aesthetic outcome without the additional laboratory time and costs involved in doing a “bench top smile design.” It’s a win-win for the clinician and patient.
